I have already shared with you on of my favorite energy bite recipes Blueberry Lemon, and I'm back with another.
This recipe taste great and is great post working out and stressing the body. Its chocolate chip cookie dough bites and they are made with a recovery powder to help optimize muscle recovery, helps with soreness, and helps replenish the nutrients you lost during your workout. Energy bites are easy to make, yield about 12 or more and are perfect for throwing in your bag and hitting the road . Try them out and let me know what you think. I'm a snacker and these are perfect for continuing to eat food with good nutrients while on-the-go.
This recipe is from The Daily Burn
Prep time: 10 minutes
2 scoops Vanilla Post Work-out Recovery
1 cup almond meal
1/2 cup nut butter (I used peanut butter but almond butter works to)
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup dairy-free mini chocolate chips
Place protein powder and almond meal in a medium-size bowl and mix.
Then, add in nut butter ( I melt it in the microwave for about 30 secs first) and maple syrup and mix again. At this point the batter should be just like cookie dough.
Finally, add in chocolate chip and mix one last time. Using a tablespoon cookie scoop, scoop out dough into your palms and roll into balls. Repeat.
** To make these into protien bite substitute the recovery powder for your favorite protien powder
