I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and indulged in all those delicious eats this holiday season. I know I did!!
Coming off of a weekend of gravy and cookies and pie, my body in fact was a having a green craving.
Unfortunately I know my body can't function solely on sugar cookies and eggnog - though I’m convinced that it could. Holiday leftovers are a wonderful thing and I took part in my fair share. But my body has been missing some proper nutrition.
As you may know from my previous post about Aloha, smoothies are my go-to drink/meal quick and tasty nutrition. This particular one is great to use as for detox - something you feel you need after so much feasting! I'm no nutritionist but drinking something green that actually tastes good already makes me feel healthy.
Between you and me, it doesn't matter if you started your day with giant pancakes. If you throw a green drink in your day, you feel like a whole new person with the wind in your hair!
So here is my recipe for a quick detox, healthy smoothie to try
- handful of spinach
- juice from a sliced lime
- a couple of thin slices of ginger
- 2 kiwi
- 1 green apple
- 1-2 celery stalk
- honey or agave syrup
